How a derope® Evacuation Works

For a successful evacuation, begin by simply attaching the backup fall arrest device to the anchor point. Then, attach the derope® to another anchor point above the hatch. Finally, attach the fall arrest device to the evacuee’s harness and the evacuation can begin.

From here, run the rope attached to the evacuee through the pigtail and they can now begin a controlled descent through the hatch. Set up time is fast and allows for quick extraction. The portability of the derope® makes it optimal for any job site or rescue situation.
