Increasing Efficiency in Rail Movements

From the Netherlands to Canada, Tractel® has experience developing solutions custom built for railway stations. Tractel® has configured many Tirak based, pulling systems to move wagons where locomotive power is not practical or not permitted. Common applications relate to moving and marshalling loaded wagons and moving wagons in inspection workshops.

Our tensiometer HF 36/2/RWT (Rail Way Tensiometer) is specifically designed to control the tensile strength of cables and contact wires in a catenary system. Tensile strength is critical to improving performance and preventing accidents and premature wear of contact wires.

Tractel® solutions provide rail operators with a way to move liquid gas container wagons in areas where locomotives are not allowed and move loaded wagons over short distances to load/unload products. In addition, our pulling systems can move wagons over maintenance pits and facilitate the inspection of bogies of locomotives. Our horizontal lifelines secure workers during these locomotive maintenance and inspection times when the car is parked inside a hangar. Our versatile range allows workers to traverse rail rooftops and access hard to reach areas with ease.
